Not the Japan You Think You Know
What do you know about Okinawa? I suspect not much. But like Hiroshima and Nagasaki, it’s a place that should be anchored in any American’s understanding of modern history.
Because for better or worse, our history is Okinawan history.
This video is the culmination of my two weeks in Japan back in November. It’s taken me a while to catch up after some holiday travel (videos from Ireland and Girona coming soon) and completing the five-day Oman Desert Marathon (lots of videos coming from that one).
But I’m back in Berlin now! At least, for a couple of weeks before heading to the U.S. for my dad’s birthday. The big 8-0! Or, as he’d put it, entering his ninth decade.
